  • Transparency is typically perceived as desirable, a prerequisite of trust and a feature of responsible action. The text explores critical aspects of transparency, thus allowing a more differentiated understanding of this important concept. To evaluate the quality of transparency, the following criteria are offered: usefulness/reliability, form/presentation and complexity/context. This paper is based on the dissertation of Sebastian Maucher (2012).
